At Victest Driving School, we train students to master real-world roads — and this is one of the most common spots where learners fail.
📍 The Intersection:
You’re turning right from Tamarind Crescent onto Tarneit Road (B870) — a wide dual-lane road with fast-moving traffic. The challenge here is lane selection and right-of-way judgment.

❌ Why Learners Fail Here:
• They do not give way to both lanes of oncoming traffic.
• They stop in the wrong position — either too early or blocking traffic.
• They turn into the wrong lane — often the right lane instead of the left, which was clearly instructed by the examiner.
✅ Correct Method (Test-Ready Steps):
1. Approach slowly and prepare to turn right.
2. Give way to BOTH oncoming lanes. Don’t rush just because one lane looks empty.
3. If the middle median is clear, it’s okay to wait there — but only if no other car is already in that spot.
4. When safe, turn into the LEFT lane (as instructed), not the right.
5. Use your indicators and mirrors if you need to merge after turning.
🎓 Tip from Trainer Forhade:
“Turning right into the correct lane under pressure shows the examiner you’re confident, aware, and test-ready. Don’t guess — wait, observe, and then move.”
